GENRE: Paranormal Romantic Suspense

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
The Octopus isn't an urban myth—and its agents are anything but ordinary. The intelligence bureau is so well-hidden most doubt its existence. A handful know its location. And fewer walk the halls in the subterranean compound.
Benjamin Sinclair didn't ask to be a scientific miracle but every mission has its risks and one perfectly-placed bullet ended his life—for a brief moment in time.
Nicole Anima battles demons every day. Life as a paranormal resources operative gives her tortured mind a rest—and keeps her from contemplating her own death.
When Anima and Sinclair partner on a globe-trotting race to eliminate the threat about to cripple humanity, all hell breaks loose. Leaping from planes, crashing into continents, dealing with voodoo priestesses, and running through jungles with zombies hot on their trail doesn't leave much time for romance, but this duo somehow manages to sizzle.
Two agents. Telepathic mind paired with regenerated commando. One world—and a mission to save it.
EXCERPT:
“I’m sorry.”
“And that covers it, right? I’ve tried to hate you for fourteen months, and that’s all you’ve got to say?”
Stop. Just, stop. The plea came from his mind as clearly as if he’d said the words out loud.
They were in too far to pull back now.
“How many times can I say I’m sorry?” A muscle worked in his jaw. “How many will it take for it to be enough?”
“Keep going. I’ll let you know when it’s enough.”
The closest zombie put a hand on her shoulder. Squeezed.
A warning.
She invaded his mind. So much white screeching noise, but something sinister, as well.
“Stop the car!” She leaned over the seat and grabbed the driver by the shirt. “Stop—now!”
They’d reached the restaurant parking lot. It was early, and the only cars belonged to employees. Parked near the back, far from the main entrance.
The startled man’s reactions were instant. His foot stomped on the brakes. By the time the car stopped moving, she was over the seat and pushing him out the driver’s side door.
Sinclair exited the back and they ran. The car idled for a moment.
Then, an explosion that shook the ground and sent the trio to their knees.
AUTHOR INTERVIEW:
How did you come up with the title of your book?
My latest book, REGENERATE, is a paranormal romantic thriller and the hero of the book, Benjamin Sinclair, is a superagent for a top secret government intelligence agency called The Octopus. He’s invincible and immortal due to a scientific miracle. Ben has actually been brought back from the dead—regenerated through the use of stem cells. So the title comes from that miracle—Ben is the world’s first—and only—regenerated being.
Who is your favorite character from your book and why?
I have to admit that my favorite character in this book is Agent Sinclair. Ben is the total package as far as heroes go. He’s handsome, funny, strong, intelligent, drives like the wind, kisses like no man’s got a right to kiss, and is so sexy the pages sizzle. He’s fearless and capable—and determined to save the world from anything that threatens humanity. And he accepts his mistakes without trying to brush them off onto someone else. I like that in a man. A responsible attitude goes a long, long way!
How about your least favorite character?  What makes them less appealing to you?
My least favorite character comes later in the book. I can’t give away exactly who he is but I will say that he’s one of the bad guys. He hides behind his truth, and would inflict pain if given the chance. He’s not at all transparent but thankfully Anima sees him for what he is and deals with him. But yeah, this character is on the top of my dislike list.
Give us an interesting fun fact or a few about your book:
Fun fact about the book? Hmm…it’s a globe-trotting adventure so there are a whole lot of points of interest but I can share a silly bit of trivia. When Sinclair and Anima are in Antwerp, Sinclair mentions that maybe they’ll have time to visit the diamond district after the mission is concluded. Antwerp actually is world-renowned for its diamond experts so it’s not an illogical suggestion.  Well, Anima waves that off and says she’d rather go for a dinner of Belgian fried potatoes  and some local beer. I’d read about the potatoes—some claim the French fry was “invented” in Belgium—but didn’t understand how they differed from what we’re accustomed to eating in New York, so I did a search for a recipe and made a batch. I did eat them with a Belgian beer and I’ve got to admit, Anima was right. I can’t say they’re better than diamonds but they were really pretty amazing!
I’ve always loved telling stories. As soon as I learned to write, my storytelling hit the page. My first book was called The Hungry Dragon and the story of a purple dragon with a fondness for cupcakes. It was well received by family and friends who smiled indulgently but I took those accolades to heart—and never looked back! Here I am, graduated from crayon drawings but still telling stories. I am very fortunate to be able to do what I have always loved doing.
Do I have any unique talents or hobbies?
I don’t juggle fireballs or skydive so I think I’m pretty ordinary. I like to hike and snowshoe, practice yoga daily, and paint badly but joyfully. I’m pretty sure I’ll never skydive but the fireball juggling just may make my Bucket List…
The strangest thing I’ve had to research for a book?
That’s a tough one—writers really do research some weird things! I’ve often joked that if I die before I clear my browser history the talk at my funeral will include my “interests” in courtship rituals in ancient Greece, how long it takes a bear to choose a mate, what happens to pupils immediately after a person ingests poison—well, you get the idea. There’s always something that needs to be researched, and it’s usually not as harmless as how to cook Belgian potatoes!
How can we contact you or find out more about your books?
I love to hear from readers so you can contact me through my website www.saritaleone.com or find me on Facebook. I try to keep all the writing news on my Facebook page, so that’s the go-to spot for word about upcoming releases, book signing dates, and even the skinny on some of the day-to-day fun stuff! My books can be found on Amazon—the buy link for REGENERATE is https://www.amazon.com/Regenerate-Sarita-Leone/dp/0998388971/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485466760&sr=8-1&keywords=sarita+leone
What can we expect from you in the future?
I’m working on the second book in The Octopus series now and it should be ready for release in December. I’m not ready to reveal the book title yet but it’s another action-packed romantic adventure. Anima and Sinclair take their relationship to a new level while battling the latest threat to humankind. All in a day’s work for this dazzling duo—and we get to watch them heat up the pages while they keep the world safe!
Thank you for allowing me to visit with you today! It’s been so much fun!
