Goddess Fish Promotions has organized a Virtual Name Before the Masses Tour for EMERGE BEYOND CIRCLES by John Geers, a fantasy available now from Small Ring Publishing.

Emerge Beyond Circles
by John Geers

GENRE:   Fantasy

Two couples from Madison, with entwined destinies, both seeking love, are connected by a single element: the ancient Siberian witch, Thuban-Pol. Her magic will either be their savior or their ruin.

Thuban-Pol is the latest in a lineage of Siberian witches. Their eternal aim is to guide humanity to true love. Their guiding tenet, “For love to bloom, these three endure: sacrifice, perseverance and suffering. But the greatest of these is suffering.”

Since the dawn of humanity, they have summoned countless couples, inflicting suffering with the intention to grow true love. They have never succeeded…but now they have their best opportunity in two couples from Wisconsin.

If they succeed, love will finally bloom for all of humanity, if the suffering inflicted on these couples doesn't kill them first.

The relief of a spilled secret washed through him, nourished by the fresh sting of bourbon on his throat, and a cruel tickle of his soul. A tickle not felt since before his sight was ripped from him in a Siberian gust.

The bottle on the bar, keeper of amber bourbon and his secret, stood silent, solid. To be sure, he chose a reliable friend in which to confide. Old Crow bourbon had been the drink of choice for Ulysses S. Grant, victorious general of the Grand Army of the Republic, for the Yanks of the North, during the Civil War. The secrets the General poured into the golden bottle were severe enough to flip the result of the war. Yet, they remained safe, locked behind the sealed beak of the black crow perched on the label.

Unseen by him, light from neon beer signs bounced off the bottle at peculiar angles, a queer spotlight on the label.

The cigarette smoldered and sagged in the ashtray.

Who is your intended audience and why should they read your book?

My audience is anyone who has loved, been loved or grappled with the meaning of love. So…most of us.

How did you come up with the title of your book?

The title of the book is revealed throughout the book and only fully understood once the final word is read. It works.

Tell us a little bit about your cover art. Who designed it? Why did you go with that particular design?

The design is a beautiful representation of the shack of the eternal coven and a couple summoned to it…in search of true love.

Who is your favorite character from your book and why?

I love the Siberian witch Thuban-Pol. She is a very complex individual who struggles with tradition, her duty, and the eternal quest for love.

How about your least favorite character?  What makes them less appealing to you?

My least favorite character is Clint. He is cruel and moody. Even though I have great sympathy for him…I don’t like him.

If you could change ONE thing about your book, what would it be?  Why?

Nothing comes to mind. It is exactly how I envisioned it when I began.

Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?

I am an accomplished triathlete and have hiked many miles in some great locations. I also love spelunking.

What's the strangest thing you have ever had to research online for your book?
It is not so strange, but I have researched quite a bit about the plants of the tundra and how they are used in teas. Pretty cool.
