15th - 21st - Have you ever thought about taking a break from blogging/Booktubing (if you're a Booktuber)? If you have, how long was the break and what did you learn from it? (submitted by Danielle @ PoetryBooksYA)

I have thought about taking a break from blogging. Like every week. LOL! It's more work than many people expect.

While I haven't taken a blogging break, I have taken an extended break from posting book reviews on the blog. I found the stress and hassle from reviewing for book tours and individual review requests was taking the fun out of blogging for me.

For example, a tour company sent me emails for months asking where my review was for a book. Each time, I said I hadn't received the book. The company never responded to my replies or sent me the book.

I don't miss reviewing and the lack of reviews hasn't really impacted my blog reach. The time I freed up as been spent on other things like working on The BookTube Your Shelf Daily Reader. I haven't given up on reviews completely. I will be talking about the books I'm reading in a more casual format this summer.

Since my focus word for 2019 is connect, I have decided to replace the review writing time by participating in activities that connect me with other bloggers. For example, this month I started participating in this book blogger hop. You can check out my other hop posts here

Thanks for hopping by. Talk to you soon!

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer's permission, I relaunched the hop on February 15, 2013. Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end the following Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop's purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
